Localization Service

When talking about localization, most people gets the inappropriate conception that it's just a copy of original one in a different language.  No big deal!  However when you ask decision makers, senior managers and officers, they will tell you they want to

  • deliver specific product or service in language of target country,
  • attract more audience, and
  • increase more sales,
  • without conflicting the cultural norm of that target area

This is more than translation.  It's a combined service of business consulting, project management, applied technology, document translation and desktop publishing.  We are native speakers of Chinese language, and we are eager to share our experience with those companies with aspiration of improving penetration then building significant presence in Chinese market.  SinoLSP provides comprehensive one-stop service for Website Localization, Catalog Localization and Manual / Specification Localization.

Website Localization

"Having exactly the same look as the English website" is the most frequently heard request.  For us, this is the very bottom line of our website localization service.

Process

All website localization assignment follow the same process:

  1. Quotation
    • You'll need to:
      • Zip and send your website, or simply send us a website link (however it's strongly suggested and highly appreciated if you could send us a zipped website under help of your website administrator, in order to ensure the integrity of project scope).
      • Specify your requirements (work scope, target languages, service type, service class, deadline, budget and more).
      • Wait for FREE quotation within 2-3 hours, after we confirm receipt of your inquiry (by phone, e-mail, or instant messenger).
    • Our job is to:
      • Import all your specified webpages into Computer Aided Translation (CAT) tool for Statistics Report on word count and internal repetition.
      • Provide you an accurate quote on project cost and project lead time, after checking the availability of our translators.
  2. Contract & Down Payment (50%)
    • When you confirm our quotation, we'll co-sign a Translation Service Agreement (T&M Contract), and
    • We will start localization project upon 50% down payment is received (a bank slip is evident).
  3. Project Life Cycle
    • Project Initiating
      • A dedicated Project Manager (PM) is assigned to your project.
      • PM choose and optimize entire work flow.
      • PM screens human resources and builds a project team.
      • PM provides trial delivery (Free sample test: 1-2 pages for translation and DTP project; or 300 words for translation projects only)
    • Project Planning
      • Develop Project Management Plan
      • Refine Project Scope
      • Develop and Optimize Project Schedule (overlapping technics)
      • Budget for Cost
      • Plan for Quality Management
      • Plan for Human Resources and Communications
      • Plan for Risk
    • Project Executing
    • Project Controlling & Monitoring
      • Control Changes & Monitor Risks
      • Report Performance & Status
    • Project Closing
  4. Project Delivery & Approval, and Final Payment
    • Approval for deliverables are gained within 10 working days.
    • Final Payment of residual 50% is received within 5 working days.
  5. Modification Service
    • After your website goes online, we can also provide FREE modification service in assistance to your website administrator.
    • Constant content update is NOT included in modification service.

Notes:  some of our clients have intelligent website that opens a portal for translators / proofreaders to translate / proofread contents online.  Then this will be a non-standard quotation, we'll run a test on translator's internet access speed and their translation speed, then we can quote per word rate or hourly rate.

Catalog Localization

For many industrial companies, product catalog is their primary sales tool.  They need it on time (cannot afford to postpone product launch), at printing standard (cannot stand mediocre quality standard) and well within budget.  It would be extremely challenging without effective Project Management, which ensures that every penny is well spent to leverage larger benefits.  And catalog translation is not one-time business.  These companies would periodically upgrade their catalogs, with similar descriptions, so it would be such a huge waste if language service vendor cannot leverage on that.

Our Strengths:

  1. Optimize work flow and minimize project lead time
  2. Maintain industry-scale Translation Memory (TM) and Terminology Base (TB) that can be leveraged to promote quality and lower cost.
  3. Capable to process various format documents on different platforms into simple text flow.

Process

  1. Quotation
    • You'll need to:
      • Send us source documents (PDF files are not sufficient and normally trigger more cost on Project Engineering).
      • Specify your requirements (work scope, target languages, service type, service class, deadline, budget and more).
      • Wait for FREE quotation within 2-3 hours, after we confirm receipt of your inquiry (by phone, e-mail, or instant messenger).

Manual / Specification Localization

For many industrial companies, product catalog is their primary sales tool.  They need it on time (cannot afford to postpone product launch), at printing standard (cannot stand mediocre quality standard) and well within budget.  It would be extremely challenging without effective Project Management, which ensures that every penny is well spent to leverage larger benefits.  And catalog translation is not one-time business.  These companies would periodically upgrade their catalogs, with similar descriptions, so it would be such a huge waste if language service vendor cannot leverage on that.

Process

The process is quite similar to that of Catalog localization.  Difference is that:

  1. repetition rate of manuals and specifications is much lower than that of catalogs
  2. Focus shifts to Accuracy and User Experience.
